David Engel called Dave Berens about his recent transaction with Sherman & Associates. Below is a transcript of the call.
Engel: When did you & Jay do business together?
Dave: Last spring. We did a four unit building together in Spring of 2009.
Engel: What would you consider to be Jay's strengths, assets, or things you like about him?
Dave: Jay is really organized. Very detail oriented. He knows his business. He's really knowledgeable about his business.
Engel: Would you please clarify what Jay was responsible for & what he did with you?
Dave: I found him a building, and he bought it. So, it was his responsibility to fund it... do his due diligence on the building... make sure he wanted it... and follow through.
Engel: On a scale of excellent, good, fair, or poor, how would you rate Jay's overall performance?
Dave: Excellent.
Engel: Why?
Dave: Because of the things I said before. His organization. His knowledge. He knows his business. He knows what to do, and he's trustworthy.
Engel: Tell me a little bit about Jay's communication skills. Did he answer your voicemails on time? Did you feel like he listened to you?
Dave: Yes. Jay is a professional. If I called him, he called me back. If I emailed him, he emailed me back. That's what you'd expect when you're in business with somebody.
Engel: Did any obstacles get in the way during your transaction? How did Jay handle that?
Dave: No real obstacles other than the normal things that pop up during a business transaction. There were some details that had to be ironed out. It's just a matter of moving forward and getting things done properly and timely. And we worked together to get through them. He handled them very well.
Engel: Thank you. Do you have any final comments or suggestions about Jay?
Dave: If someone who's reading this interview is interested in doing business with Jay--I would say don't worry, you're going to be in good hands.
Engel: Thank you so much for your insights, Dave. I appreciate your time.
