David Engel called Klara Gallusz about a recent REO property she sold to Sherman & Associates. Below is a transcript of the call.
David: When did you & Jay do business together?
Klara: December 2009.
David: What would you consider to be Jay's strengths, assets, or things you like about him?
Klara: I find him to be really professional. I really appreciate that. He's an excellent communicator. He's also very good at keeping you informed throughout the process about what he's doing. He does what he says he's going to do. And then communicates that to you. There's no chasing him for information.
David: Would you please clarify what Jay was responsible for and what you did together?
Klara: Basically, we were wholesaling an REO property to him in Fallbrook. We were using create financing. He was looking to buy his property through his IRA, which was something neither of us had ever done. He was talking with his people about handling the IRA... I was talking to my lawyer to make sure were doing everything correctly.
David: On a scale of excellent, good, fair, or poor, how would you rate Jay's overall performance?
Klara: Excellent.
David: Why?
Klara: Because, like anything in life, it's relationship building and communication. There were days when Jay and I were on the phone 4, 5, or 6 times. We were constantly needing things from each other. There were bumps along the way, but it was a smooth transaction because we were in constant communication along the way.
I really enjoyed working with him. He's a very nice man.
David: Tell me a little bit about Jay's communication skills. Did he answer your voicemails on time? Did you feel like he listened to you?
Klara: Yes. Absolutely. When we were talking, it was within the same day--we usually would call each other back within a few hours. He was very responsive. And he would do what I would ask him to do. And I was the same.
David: Did any obstacles get in the way during your transaction? How did Jay handle that?
Klara: Yes they did. Quite a few as a matter of fact because we were dealing with a bank. He has a very calm nature. He handled it with a level of professionalism and a problem solving attitude.
Even though the situations were quite difficult and complicated, he never became emotional about it. He would say, "OK, this is what we're presented with. This is what we need to do."
David: Thank you. Do you have any final comments or suggestions about Jay?
Klara: Just that I really enjoyed working with him. It was just delightful. And I would jump at the chance to do business with Jay again. I think he's a fantastic individual.
David: Thank you so much for your insights. I appreciate your time.
